Last Hours in Hong Kong

Bird at Hong Kong Aviary

Morning in Hong Kong

Final View from our Hotel Window

Outside Man Mo TempleWe spend the morning packing for our flight back to Toronto today. I take one last look at the view from our hotel window and we head out.

We are able to leave our bags at the hotel and we walk out into the sunshine to check out the nearby Man Mo Temple.

Hong Kong Park

John at Tai Cheong Bakery

Fairy Bird at Hong Kong AviaryThere is a long line at the temple and getting longer as we watch. We decide to go back to the aviary in Hong Kong Park one last time.

On the way there I get one last egg tart at the famous Tai Chong Bakery.

We see a number of different birds in the aviary today and a flock of cockatoos flies overhead.

We head back to Ding Dim Sum Restaurant for lunch then back to the hotel to pick up our luggage.

Flight to Toronto

John at Hong Kong Airport

Transportation to the airport on the subway is seemless.

Hong Kong International AirportOnce at the airport, we are able to look out at the mountains and the gondola we took yesterday.

Our fourteen hour Cathay Pacific flight to Toronto is a bit miserable because the cabin temperature is unusually cold. Fellow passengers seem to feel the same way as they are asking for extra blankets and are bundled up as much as possible.

We land in Toronto and I see snow outside the plane window. But it’s still good to be home.
