The area is very trendy.

Chowing Down

Graham and I notice lots of parrot action in a tree. Upon a woman and adult son with food in front of them at a restaurantclose observation, we find that they are not quacker parakeets but another type of small green parrot eating berries.

We eat in a cute vegetarian restaurant called the Green Banana. We all enjoy our meals.

Confusion with Directions

Graham calls an Uber and we head to the cycle path that Victor recommended last evening.

Graham gives the driver the address and we are dropped off at a transit station. We all get out and John & Graham start walking. It’s hot (84 degrees) and I’m tired and I follow. We are trying to get across a highway to the river where the cyclepath is and then find a bike rental place. But we can’t find any access point. After about twenty minutes we end up back where we started.

I am mildly crabby and tired by this point so after some discussion John suggests we go to Villa Lobos Park. We walk to a spot where it will be easy to get an Uber and Graham orders it.

We are soon at the park and decide to rent bikes. I want to rent a two person bike so John can peddle me around while I do nothing but he gets me my own bike… his way of repaying me for being crabby. We spend a pleasant hour riding around the park.

On the way back to our apartment, our Uber driver spoke English as he had lived over 20 years in England. Graham and John chat with him about Brazil while I doze.

We all rest and then meet up for supper. We had some restaurants we wanted to check out but they were closed on Mondays. The pizza is baked in a brick oven and delicious. We brought it back to apartment to eat.
