Off to See Coldplay in Philadelphia

Tickets to Coldplay

Gas is at $2.15 CAD per litre…highest price ever and I find myself in the car with John heading to Philadelphia. Yep, the timing is not great but we are going to the Coldplay concert and checking out Philly while we are at it. I am soooo excited.

It was a joy to pack last night since we are not flying anywhere so I don’t need to worry about baggage allowances. I have clothing for every possible event which may transpire on our five day mini vacation.

The Drive to Philly

a highway with lots of cars leading towards Philadelphia's skyline of tall skyscrapers

The day is sunny and the roads are good. We have a choice of two routes to Philly, both taking about 7 hours and 40 minutes without stops. The first route is a longer distance on fast moving toll roads and the second is a shorter distance without tolls on local roads. John decides to take the toll roads there and the country roads on the return trip.

The border crossing is quick and easy. The drive is non eventful. We pass some pretty vistas through Finger Lakes and the Pocono Mountains. There is a lot of greenery along the way. Nine hours later (we stop a few times) we arrive in Philadelphia.

Our First Evening

Besides a bit of traffic getting into Philly, we find our Airbnb apartment without difficulty and are off for supper to La Chinesca Restaurant. John has fish tacos and I have General Tso Tofu. They are both very good.

We head back to the Airbnb for an early night.
